Flight Nurse requirements


DESCRIPTION:
No open positions at this time. The Flight Nurse is a professional critical care transport registered nurse whose role is diverse, autonomous and multi-faceted. The Flight Nurse works under the clinical direction of the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Director and the Medical Director or their designee. The Flight Nurse uses the Synergy Model nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate level of nursing care according to the standards of care of the Board of Nursing, Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association, Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems as well as organizational and departmental policies and procedures. To support the Synergy model, the flight nurse should have a diverse nursing back ground in areas such as emergency medicine, critical care medicine, pre-hospital care and spans the age continuum from infant to geriatric.

EDUCATION:
Education: Registered Nurse, BSN preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Five years of nursing experience in critical care and/or emergency nursing. Transport nursing experience preferred. Pre-hospital experience preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to make independent, clinically and operationally competent decisions in a challenging environment. Ability to adapt to stressful situations; capable of identifying strengths and weaknesses and seeks appropriate resources. Able to lead a team approach to patient care. Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
•State of Ohio Nursing License required. Will need to apply for Indiana Nursing License once hired. •Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Cirriculum (TNCC) or Transport Nursing Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC) •Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or their equivalents must be obtained within the departmental orientation period. At a minimum of a Clinical Ladder Nurse Level 2 or evidence of equivalent professional advanacement process for external candidates. Examples of needed documentation would be evidence of committee membership, preceptor/mentor role, charge role, professional accomplishments (awards, poster presentations, CE presentations, publications), membership to professional nursing organization, department or program performance improvement project. •Relevant certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN or CTRN) or there equivalent required upon hire. •EMT- B or EMT-P preferred.

Mobile Intensive Care Nurse requirements


DESCRIPTION:
Two part time (0.6 FTE) positions and one PRN position

EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse, BSN preferred

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Five years of nursing experience in critical care/emergency nursing. Nurses with at least three years of pre-hospital Paramedic level experience and three years of critical care/emergency nursing will be considered. Transport nursing experience preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to make independent, clinically and operationally competent decisions in a challenging environment. Ability to adapt to stressful situations; capable of identifying strengths and weaknesses and seeks appropriate resources. Is able to lead a team approach to patient care. Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
•Current State of Ohio Nursing License. •Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or their equivalencies to be obtained within initial probationary period. •Active, unrestricted Drivers License with no more than 4 accrued points. •CEN, CCRN, CFRN or CTRN certification required within two years of employment. •EMT - B or EMT - P strongly encouraged.

EDUCATION:
High School Graduate, EMT - B Certification, National Registry preferred.

Three years of Emergency Medical Service experience as an EMT- B, five years preferred. Intra-facility transport experience preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to make independent, clinically and operationally competent decisions in a challenging environment. Communication Specialists, Air & Mobile requirements


DESCRIPTION:

EDUCATION:
High School diploma. College Degree in relevant field encouraged.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Three years of Emergency Medical Services or related field. Direct patient care healthcare provider experience preferred. Communications Specialist experience preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to make independent, clinically and operationally competent decisions in a challenging environment. Ability to adapt to stressful situations; Able to participate in an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. Effective communication skills including strong verbal and interpersonal skills. Understanding and experience with Informational Systems and Technology, Computer Aided Dispatch Systems, personal and networking computers.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Current EMTcertification required. Paramedic certification or RN license strongly preferred. 2. National Association of Air-Medical Communications Specialist (Certified Flight Communicator) or equivalent certification received within two years of being hired. *Associate is responsible for keeping all required licensures and certifications active 3.
